The therapeutic treatment approach for Plantar Fasciitis.
E.H.; a 24 year old female long distance runner (1/2 marathon time: 93 minutes), came to see me after she suddenly began to experience “crippling” heel pain that did not just eliminate her capacity to run, but made it impossible or her to walk twenty minutes to get to work.
My diagnosis was plantar fasciitis due to poor foot mechanics.
I used a two-fold approach to address the problem:
- I provided her with BioPods Stimsoles to therapeutically correct the poor foot function and recommended that she use them at all times and not just when running, in soft, flexible, loosely laced footwear.
- I suggested that she use home ice packs – and NO other therapy.
After two weeks of therapy and consistent use of Stimsoles, her pain disappeared, and her running capacity was restored. After 7 months she is still problem free.
